Why This Reference Exists
Printed directories no longer serve as a current countywide roster, yet the underlying public records remain distributed among many custodians. Washtenaw County Property/Parcel Lookup and the Clerk/Register of Deeds support land research. The Michigan Voter Information Center and QVF process have their own redaction rules. AADL, the Library of Michigan, Archives of Michigan, and Bentley provide historical sources. We assembled official access routes, coverage notes, and limits so readers can start with the record that fits their question.
What You Will Find Here
- Pages by angle: Streets for address-linked records, City Directory for historical volumes, and Resident Lookup for one-person verification.
- Record custodians: the County Clerk/Register, Equalization and Treasurer, courts, state agencies, AADL, and archives.
- Research methods: how to trace a parcel, interpret a directory entry, compare a household across dated sources, and check a ZIP delivery point.
- Access boundaries: Michigan FOIA, MCL 15.231 et seq., vital-record eligibility, voter redactions, court limits, and the Address Confidentiality Program.
